You’re Not Lost, You’re Here #Journey

Have you ever felt like you ended up some place, but you have no idea how you got there, or where you are even?

Some days that is how I feel.

I feel like I am in the middle of a bad dream, a nightmare really, of choices that I can’t even believe I made to get to where I am right now. It’s really a scary place to be. I would also attest that many of the “wrong turns” I made were self-inflicted.

The truth is you can’t go back, you can’t rewind time, you can’t undo those poor decisions. I would even argue that trying to over-analyze them, or replay what happened in your mind, really is a huge waste of breath and time that doesn’t deserve to be re-visited over and over.

Let it go.

Now to the picture. I didn’t take it, but I love it.

Next time you feel “lost” in your life, in some new place with new people, and you are completely uncomfortable, and you feel out of place, stop the churning in your mind. And tell yourself, “You’re not lost. You’re here.”

Here can be a place of healing. Here can be where you “restart” your new life. Here can be new choices and decisions you will begin making this moment.

Life is funny like that. Every day, every moment, you can choose to do something different, something new. You can turn around and start walking in a new direction.

You have that choice.

What will you do with where you are right now? What will you do now that you find yourself… here.

  1. We can only deal effectively with the present–where we are at at this moment. We can learn from the past, but we cannot rewrite the results. We can look forward to the future, but we cannot worry about what hasn’t happened.
