I need some inspiration this weekend! It is also First Saturdays in Denver!

That means I can get into both the Denver Art Museum (DAM) and the Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA) together for just a penny! It is about a mile and a half walk between the two museums and if I get lazy (or short on time) I can always take the Free Bus Shuttle on the 16th Street Mall to cover about 15 blocks between the two locations. When I go for a hike, I usually hike at altitude for 6+ miles. This seems like a good time to try out my flaneuring skills and see a new side of Denver! Hopefully I can make a few new sketches, write some poetry, take some pics, and take in some (not so fresh) air in the Mile High City!

MCA Denver hosts Penny Saturdays on the first Saturday of every month for the Fall 2019 and the first part of 2020.

The ultra-discounted schedule for October 2019 through January 2020 is as follows:

October 5, 2019 (this weekend)
November 2, 2019
December 7, 2019
January 19, 2020 (almost my birthday!)

Penny Admission to MCA Denver for Colorado residents (zip code is verified at check-in). The hours of operation on Saturdays is from 10 am till 5 pm.

The address to get to MCA Denver is: 1485 Delgany St, Denver, CO 80202.

There is inexpensive public parking in the garage at 1900 16th St, Denver, CO 80202.

Museums For All – this is a cool program for people with some financial limitations, who can still be inspired by their local museums!

Octopus Initiative – get on a list to be chosen via lottery to host a piece of art from MCA Denver for 10 months in your home! Wow!
